Our
sheep season runs September 1 thru October 20. We hunt Big Horn
Sheep in areas 1 thru 5, mainly area 4. Sheep are hunted out
of our base-camp in the Washakie Wilderness or out of spike camps.
We take only a few sheep hunters per year. The success rate of
our hunters harvesting a mature ram is nearly 100%.
Sheep
hunting is a physically demanding hunt. We track the sheep in
the high-country in their summer and fall feeding grounds which
requires long and rigorous walks. This hunt requires a hunter to
be in top shape.
About
8-10 years ago, Tim decided not to take Biog Horn Sheep hunters
for a awhile in order to allow the sheep in the area to mature.
Last year many of our elk hunters saw and photographed many
7/8 and full curl rams within 100 yards.
We will
again be taking Big Horn Sheep hunters into the area. This
is a great opportunity to take a big ram.
